Camp Winape Open House
Saturday August 4 and Sunday August 5, 2007
Chief and Sass Kolar purchased Camp Winape 70 years ago in 1937. We are having a celebratory Open House/Reunion August
4-5, 2007 and cordially invite the former Campers and Counselors to “Come Again to Dear Old Winape”.
Attached is a list of area Motels, Lodges and Bed &
Breakfast Lodges where you may make reservations. We encourage you to RSVP and make reservations at the lodges as soon
as possible as space in area motels may be limited.
We will have guided tours around Camp Winape. Many of the cabins are still in good shape and you can review modern pictures
on the www.winape.com website. Show your family where you lived at Camp, and catch
up with old cabin mates. The Waterfront will be open and you can check out a canoe, rowboat or sailboat to tour Lake
Seymour. The restored 1934 Chris Craft will also be making trips around the Lake. Guided hikes up Mt. Elan will
also be available.
Bring your picnic lunch Saturday and enjoy it on picnic benches at the Waterfront.
Saturday evening, August 4, the Kolar family will host a wine and beer Happy Hour and “Winape Banquet” in the
Dining Hall. Trading Post and Camp Fire in the Council Ring will follow.
Sunday morning, August 5, we will host a Continental breakfast at the Dining Hall and have another round of activities
similar to those above.
IF YOU
ARE INTERESTED, PLEASE RSVP to Eric Kolar at
ekolar@fdn.com, or (904) 396-0009, 3305 Atlantic
Boulevard, Suite B, Jacksonville, FL 32207. Please include dates you would be coming, number AND NAMES of those in your
party, current address and telephone number and PLEASE RESPOND BY 2/15/07.
We look forward to seeing you in August, 2007!
Ron, Janet, Alan and Eric Kolar.
